1.9 Release, New Map, Amplified!

    Hey guys,


    With the rumored Spigot 1.9 build to be released on the 26th, we've decided to open our new map alongside it. This means that our familiar plugins such as our Depths world and Market will be available at the time of launch or soon after. For the first time ever, we'll be setting the terrain to amplified generation. (Mountains!) For the time being, the size of the map will be set at 6000x6000.


    If you're one of the players who participated in the snapshot map for 1.9, you'll be able to bring whatever you can fit inside of your Enderchest to the new map. Note that transfers from Titan to the new map won't be included this time around. We hope you understand our choice in that matter, as that map has been live for about a year and half. We don't have an official date that Titan will close, but a weeks notice will be given before that happens. Don't worry though, soon after the closing of Titan a download for the world will be made available here on the site.

    This post will serve as a discussion for the new map and anything related to it.

    EDIT: Mojang has updated that the release for 1.9 is now changed to the 29th.

    I'm not sure how I feel about it being set to Amplified. I know a lot of players have trouble with framerate to begin with, and Amplified makes travel and other activities next to impossible in affected biomes.

    Minecraft 1.9 has had a lot of optimizations since 1.8, and rendering of amplified has gotten a lot better. The map has been pre-generated to the 6000 border, so server tick should be stable. As for transportation, boats, horses and minecarts(maybe???) have had a great overhaul making travel much smoother, and there is the elytra for those brave enough to venture to the end! We encourage players to build communities, towns and roads to make transportation much better!

    I plan and playing a bit on the new map hope to see a few familiar faces on teamspeak ..... And for builds you can bet ill make some stupidly excessively overkill mob farm ...

    Once I'm out of classes for the day, I'll be on SS the rest of it :D I can't wait to experiment with some mountain build ideas I've had for a while now, and I'm also trying to get all my friends to come back. I know Taharix and XThe_GeneralX and MichaelThe_Gamer (Now Buffalo_Gravy) are going to be on as well! This should be a good and fun world :D

    Well spigot 1.9 was apparently released about 20 something minutes ago... So I am very excited, especially since I still have yet to see what they added in 1.9 :D

    Just gonna post this as a tip for anyone having issues with this, but if you are getting constant lag spikes, try turning vsync off in video setting, it changed my fps from 15-30 fps with constant lag spikes to 60-90fps with no lag spikes
